The genesis of the Splash of Colour can be traced back to 2012 when a group of university students who worked as painters during their summer breaks laid the foundations of a small family business.
It all began as a means to fund university education, but it didn’t take Krys Kudakiewicz, our founder and head painter, long to realize that painting contractors had a bad rap in Ottawa. Many people they met had had subpar encounters with painting contractors, leaving them without a reliable, go-to painter. Krys aspired to fill this void, aiming to be the trusted painting professional in Ottawa that people would repeatedly reach out to for all their home painting needs.
Fueled by the passion to redefine the narrative, Krys discussed his business idea at home, and thus, Splash of Colour was born as a small family business.
The vision was clear: to paint your home today and remain your preferred choice for future interior and exterior painting needs.
We envisioned being the painting company that not only painted walls but painted smiles on our customer’s faces.
We had a humble start, but we were driven by the desire to make a difference in the painting industry.
