Meet Krys
Krys Kudakiewicz is the driving force behind Splash of Colour Painting.
His painting journey began in 2007, when he worked as a painter with a student painting company during the summer before university. Even then, his entrepreneurial spirit kicked in. While pursuing his studies, Krys launched his own summer painting business, growing it season by season and developing a deep understanding of both the trade and the importance of strong client relationships.
In 2012, after graduating, Krys recognized a major gap in the market. Homeowners were struggling to find painters they could rely on or trust with their homes. With passion and determination, he founded Splash of Colour Painting in Ottawa with a simple mission: to be a painting company clients could trust for life.
His vision was to deliver professional, consistent, customer-first service so exceptional that clients would return for every painting project throughout their lifetime.
As his experience grew, so did Splash of Colour’s reputation. Krys’ focus naturally shifted toward the high-end market, where clients expected more than just good painting, they expected the absolute best.
Krys’ approach is guided by unwavering ethics. He doesn’t do what’s convenient, he does what’s right. For example, he insists on using oil primer for all bare wood, even though it’s slower and more challenging, because it delivers the best long-term results. While many painters take shortcuts, Krys’ commitment to excellence means doing what’s best, even when it isn’t easy.
Throughout his career, Krys and his team have painted embassies and Canada’s Official Residences, collaborated with top-tier builders, completed numerous commercial repaint projects for nationally recognized brands, and delivered countless smaller projects for homeowners who truly care about quality finishes.
When Krys moved his family to Vancouver Island, he brought Splash of Colour’s legacy west, continuing to provide the same exceptional standards to the island community.
